Consultation
Questions to Consider Before We Talk
A consultation is a brief, 15-minute conversation to explore whether we’re a good fit. It’s not a therapy session — just a starting point.
You don’t need perfect answers. But if it’s helpful, you might reflect on a few of these questions before we connect.
-
If you had to choose one or two starting goals, what would they be?
For example:
Anxiety or constant overthinking
Relationship conflict or disconnection
Trauma-related symptoms
Emotional overwhelm
Communication difficulties
Repeating relational patterns
Burnout or perfectionism
Something else?
-
What signs would tell you that things are improving?
Fewer intense arguments
Quicker recovery after conflict
Less hypervigilance
More emotional regulation
Greater clarity in communication
-
Try to describe change in lived or observable terms — not perfection.
Would you:
Respond differently in conflict?
Feel less reactive or less shut down?
Trust yourself more?
Feel more connected in relationships?
Experience fewer cycles of self-criticism?
-
Different people need different kinds of support.
Are you looking for:
Structure and direction?
A collaborative, exploratory space?
Direct feedback?
A therapist who challenges you gently?
A space that feels warm and relational?
Short term vs long term therapy
Noticing what feels important to you can help us determine fit.
-
If you’ve been in therapy previously, what felt helpful? What didn’t?
If you haven’t, what concerns or hesitations do you have about starting?
-
Your cultural background, race, gender identity, sexuality, faith, family structure, or lived experiences may shape what you’re navigating.
Is there anything about your identity or history that feels especially relevant to the work you want to do?
Therapy doesn’t happen in a vacuum — context matters.
What Happens During the Consultation?
• We’ll briefly discuss what’s bringing you in
• I’ll share how I approach therapy
• We’ll talk about logistics (availability, fees, format)
• You can ask any questions you may have
At the end of the call, we’ll decide whether moving forward feels like a good next step.
Ready to Connect?
If reflecting on these questions brought clarity or even more curiosity — I invite you to schedule a consultation.
You don’t need everything figured out. You just need a place to begin.
